Hi, I want to design a 12-layers PCB for phones.
I need the multilayer dielectric materials lists, such as thickness, Er, etc.
Who can do me a favor to provide me that materials lists from PCB vendors?
And, what is the software for multilayer PCB simulation? It's better free version.

use Altium for multilayer PCB design and Hyperlynx and PSPICE for simulation. BTW are you working in a company if yes then tell them get you buy these software. If you are working on your own then you have to be very precise. you can download free software for very targeted application.

Thank you. Now I knew the softwares can do the job. And my company has Si9000 can do the simulation.

But I want to know the dielectric materials thickness and Er. In the previous design, I designed one layer with 120um thickness. Someone told me that the PCB vendor don't have such thickness dielectric. So I want these lists.

This chart is a nice comparison of different types of materials. It does not have the different thicknesses though. The thickness information you will probably have to get from each manufacturer's web site. For instance the datasheet for Rogers RO4003 and RO4350 is attached. At the top of page 4 they list standard thicknesses, panel sizes, and copper thicknesses for these two materials.

Gentleman,
Write your manufacturer a mail. Manufacturer will provide you the whole list of dielectrics for PCB. usually( as a rule of thumb) I use FR-4 dielectric with Er approximately 4.6. Similarly the thickness of the PCB decides the impedance of the traces above, in and below the PCB. So the thickness is a kind of function of impedance of traces and PCB strength required.

I have contacted the PCB vendor and got the thickness. The vendors are EMC, Mitsui, etc.
