Hi all!

I am trying to connect to GPRS using TC35i. Currently I can receive and send SMS.

The problem I am facing is that I can not find AT commands like AT+CGATT and AT+CGDCONT in TC35i AT commands specifications manual. I can't find the starting point for GPRS communication.

Any one got experience with connecting to GPRS via TC35i.

Please help!

Hello zeeekay,

You have REALLY OLD module. I use it almost 10 years ago. To be honest I use MC35, and MC35i ("i" version is improved one), but this is complete modems which have TC35 inside...

If I remember well TC35 do not have PPP stack, which means that you have to do everything by yourself (just for information see what you need to make to use GPRS with TC35: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Point-to-point_protocol_over_Ethernet).

If you ask me use some other module with PPP stack inside, it will be much easier.

Hope this helps,

Mr.Cube

Thanks Mr. Cube for the reply. Actually I have some 500 pcs of TC35i and I got them from a tracking device (mature product). The device was sending GPRS data to some server. Now I am interested in using these modules in one of my application which also demands GPRS access. All I need to do is to send a packet of data to a server.

Although I have bit experience of designing electronics and providing solutions but unfortunately I am not familiar with the PPP protocols or the scheme that I need to implement to have it working.

Another point that I request you to notice is that I am using TC35i. TC35 was GSM modem while TC35i also supports GPRS according to documents.

It will be very helpful if you can provide bit details about your experience with using GPRS on TC35i modems.

Any document or application note can solve the problem, I think!

Regards
