any idea to measure the current of a transformer ?
dont know the secondary& primary winding .
only know the input & output voltage

I would compare its physical size with that of a known transformer. Looking at a catalogue :- **broken link removed** ,you can see that their volume increases as their power rating increases.
If you are talking about the running current of a transformer in a circuit, put a small resistor in series with one of its windings and measure the voltage drop across it. the current in the other windings can be determined by the voltage ratio. As an example :- 230 -> 12 V transformer. .1 ohm resistor in secondary drops .08V, so current in secondary equals .08/.1 = .8A. current in primary = .8 X 12/230 = .041 A

i haven't any not a cat-loge, I am not telling running current of transformer . I got that from a transformer winder 230 to 12 volt dc about 5 A .
But i am not sure that 5A current is drawing .how can i ?

Try to load the transformer with a varying resistive load in the secondary. ie in 12V side. Note the output voltage at
different loads when the voltage sudden falls from a voltage say 11.5v or near to 11 volt note the current.

What is your application by using this transformer ?

Try to measure the diameter of the Secondary winding

Frank what about the KVA rating. Is it true for a transformer with 50KVA and 5000KVA
