Hi all,

I am trying to design an xor gate...but the instructor has asked us to merge two pmos transistors in the design...
kindly provide me the solution...
I am using cadence 6.1.5

hello, you can merge the the mos using fingering. use common gate for two mos by sharing the source/drain of the mos structure..

cheers

Read this book, for better idea.

J. M. Rabaey, A. P. Chandrakasan, and B. Nikolic, Digital Integrated Circuits: A Design Perspective, 2nd ed., Prentice Hall Electronics and VLSI Series, Upper Saddle River, NJ: Pearson Education, 2003. [abstract]

If you want to learn the basics refer to this book "the basics of cmos cell design" Believe me, this is the best book to refer. It is free to download. Moreover if you wanna try some layouts at home download a free software called microwind. Start reading this book and start experimenting the layouts in the software. You will learn much faster.

Cheers
