Combline filter design with ADS.

Hi

I'm designing a combline filter in ADS using stripline and microstrip. Can someone please tell me why stripline need a 3 layer substrate (MLSUBSTRATE3) and microstrip a 2 layer substrate (MLSUBSTRATE2)?

Hi lindt,

Stripline is buried inside the dielectric with two ground conductor above and below it. (3 layer substrate)
Microstrip is exposed to air and only have one ground conductor below it. (2 layer substrate)
