Bench Power Supply Question

I found this schematic and want to build Bench top power supply, but as I’m beginner I have some questions to ask so any suggestion is welcome!

1. If I add more power transistors or change type for example 2n3772 Can I get more current (10amp)

2. I think that is possible to use PIC to control LM 741 and can anyone help me with advice how to do that? What should I do with LM741 inputs-to get 0-30v and 0-10A
(schematic explanation .. suggestion)

3. Is it worth to try :roll:

Hello My friend !
Your circuit is ok and and i think it will work fine .
and about adding transistors : you can add some transistors to increase ability of giving higher currents , but don't forget to increase the beta of your driver and use more 2n3055 , in parallel together .
And it has current limiter and voltage controller , so you should decrease the sense current resistor or increase the compared voltage of limiting amplifier to increase the current .
By the way , i have many circuits of power supply , if you want i can share them with you .
But your original circuit is good too ( about 5 years ago , my teacher analyzed it for me , and it seems incredible .)

1) Yes, you can get more current. You should parallel transistors to spread out power dissipation so that each transistor dissipates less power.

2) Yes, you can use a PIC or other microcontroller. But for that, you would need to be able to program the microcontroller. Have you programmed PICs before?

3) Making the project - why not? Using a PIC for the control - depends on your level of expertise in PIC. But, since you say you're a beginner, I assume you don't know much about PICs or programming them. In that case you shouldn't use the PIC.
