how can i design a cpw fed monopole antenna with amc as a back plane ?

you mean a printed monopole or a real monopole ?

anyway, there is a boundary called (Perfect M) which a perfect magnetic conductor

you can draw a 2d rectangle as a ground plane and assign this boundary to it

hope this helps!

I actually need to design an amc for a cpw fed monopole antenna for mobile phones at 2.3GHz. Yeah a printed one . The amc is to be used as a backplane or smthg.. I mean not as a substitute for ground plane.. could u please help me ?

an AMC is an atrificial magnetic conductor

either you search for a practical design

or you can use the theoritical (Perfect M) boundary as I told you

here is a paper that might help you

"Effects of Artificial Magnetic Conductors in the
Design of Low-Profile High-Gain Planar Antennas
With High-Permittivity Dielectric Superstrate"

you are welcome, and give me a feedback as I am interested to see how this ends
