Why are mosfet drivers required in H-bridge.? What is the use of them? Can't the bridge work in absence of them? I have gone through the data sheets of drivers like IR2112 but figured out nothing??? plz help.

Thanx in advance

The main reason to use a driver is that you require a large current to turn the mosfets on as you need to charge the gate capacitance quickly. (i=C*dv/dt)

The processor or IC used for generating pulses for h bridge dilvers very small current and this current is not enough to drive load like motors . so if you want to drive such you need higher power. Mosfet are triggered via pulses from the microprocesser / ic . alternatives means you need some source which will be triggered from less powered pulses .
