Dear Asad

I tried Running your file Last Night. one thing i saw was, your conducting layer was not assigned. so the reflection coefficient was completely messed up. and unfortunately when i started running the file, laptop crashed. i will try running it one more time and give you any feedback possible.

Regards
Sajid Mohammed.

Dear Asad

I Ran your simulation, and VSWR looks perfectly fine to me, since you are trying to get a UWB printed monopole. the radiation pattern has to be near omnidirectional.which is quite the pattern you are getting i supposed, the only problem i saw in the design was you forgot to assign a material to your conductive layer.another thing that was with your design was that the simulation was not converging at all. after you increase the number of passes and fine the size of the mesh, results are very coherent.

Let me know if you need any further help

Regards
Sajid Mohammed.

sir with notch which is in feed line ,the results are fine.i need results without notch. pls you try it without notch and if results are good with upload the simulated file.i will be really thankful to you.i will w8 for ur rslts.

i need rslts without notch .pls u try it without notch and upload file as soon as possible

Dear All

I am sure he didn't mean it that way. Guess he is not the best at communicating in english.so let's go easy on him :)

Asad, you wont be able to run the file if i upload it because i have HFSS13 and when i ran your file ,it prompted me that it wont be useful in lower versions(i.e not backward compatible). so far i think your design is fine since you didn't mention any of the requirements, such as gain and directionality.

Hope that helps

Regards
Sajid Mohammed.

thnkx very much sajid sir for ur replies.
basically sir i need uwb range of 2-12 Ghz and flat gain over entire range of 3 to 4 dB.and omnidirctionl rad. pattern
the notch in the return loss is due to the slot in the feeding line.but when i remove this slot results becomes wrng.
pls u try to remove the slot which is in feeding line,if results came then upload it. need ur help .

Asad

i have tried running the simulation, you patterns are not exactly omnidirectional . gain is very poor as well

Sajid Mohammed.

i thnk after removing slot gain and patrn can be little bit imprvd

i was simulating the design without the notch, the first one or was i supposed to simulate the design that was posted second time and remove the notch

Regards
Sajid Mohammed.

sir simulate that one without notch that i have sent second time in which there is slot

ok.sorry for the confusion, have few other files i have been looking into. yes so far the s11 characteristics are fine,so is the Gain. and your Radiation pattern is close to omnidirectional. Here's the file please find it appended. Not sure if you have the compatible version of HFSS to run it again.because HFSS is not backward compatible, have found this lately many don't have the latest version of the HFSS.

Regards
Sajid Mohammed.

Asad

the files that you have added to the compressed folder, hexgonal file isn't properly saved, rectangular file, change the radiation boundary and you will see a proper gain over the frequency range.Radiation boundary should be atleast a distance of lambda/4 from each side of the source. change your x and y coordinates accordingly and you will get better results.

Upload your hexgonal patch again.

Sajid Mohammed.

Sorry the hexagonal patch was there. same issue with the hexogonal patch as well define your radiation boundaries properly.

hi sir ,i tried bt gain is nt adjsted, pls try sir and upload them if gain is adjsted.here uploaded files are-

just change the radiation boundary brother and you should be fine.you have had the problem last time, that you were not able to open the files because of the compatibility issues. Gain values were close to 4dB when the radiaiton boundary was chosen appropriately

Sajid Mohammed.
