One suggestion I noticed helps me is to rename the datasheets with more descriptive information.
Many data sheets are old and not machine readable text, the filename is often all you have.
Is sharing datasheet stores a thing people do?
Thank you. The suggestion of a wall mounted rack near the equipment is what I do, and it works.
My issue is more with the storage of parts in a way I can know what I have and find.
For example, I have taken to buying inexpensive screw and bolt bins with a top for transistors. They have 24...
Having a home lab is creating a challenge with storing parts so that the inventory is known.
The parts storage area has grown, but my memory has limits, and looking at bin after bin is time consuming. Parts and their equivalent are a problem.
The searching I have done on the topic mostly...
Is there a recommendation out there for test lead ends? I'm pretty disappointed at the quality I am getting from random sellers online.
It must be quite common for a lab to need to make a custom lead, where do you go for those pieces so you know they are made of what they say and you can count...
And a final update in the event anyone searches for this Fluke or Philips series:
The gears inside are just hard plastic and rough, and fitted about as well as the gears in a kid's toy. It must work, but wow, the engineers didn't think of this? If I had the 3d printing skills it would be cool...
I have a Philips/Fluke PM 2525 multimeter which is making an odd noise. I have identified it happening twice:
- Once when it powers on
- Every time you switch from AC to DC measurement (perhaps more I have not discovered)
The noise is mechanical, best described as the sound a fish tank pump...
Is there a source for Agilent / HP dials / knobs that's not ebay? I have a few power supplies that need repair, but not only are they jokingly overpriced, but its had to determine if its the right part, etc.
Anyone have experience with this?
I double checked when I had issues. It is indeed a .047.
Mouser has the type here:
https://www.mouser.com/c/passive-components/capacitors/?voltage%20rating%20dc=5.5%20VDC&sort=capacitance
I found it odd there was nothing in this uf range. Is there something I am doing wrong?
I have a .047uf 5.5v capacitor acting as a battery. It's corroded, so I want to replace it.
Strangely, nothing comes up on mouser... is this an obsolete item? What should I replace this with?
The ones I am finding are silly expensive.
Can I slot a different value cap in? Is it the voltage...
