Agree with Loucy.
The W (length) is the route of the feeding input wave.
So it determines the resonant freq, and so on.
And, the polarization is also determinedby the feeding direction.
Re: antenna problem
Munib
You do not have the microwave knowledge I guess.
The impedance match is necessary when connect the module and the antenna.
You do not test it in regular PCB and calculate the trace impedance, I suppose.
Try to find someone major in RF to help you.
demodulated output
>The MB1504 PLL tries to lock but there is a lot of noise in the demodulated output. What could be the reason? The loop filter calculations seems to be fine.
Check the power to VCO by FFT of Oscilloscope to see if there are low-freq noise.
And check the surrounding of Loop...
Hi all:
I met a serious problem.
If the load to connect to antenna is not 50 ohm, say, 35ohm-j200ohm.
And I need to use the dipole type antenna to match and radiate the desired frequency 800MHz.
The output of load is directly connected to dipole twin input pads.
So there is no chance to use...
Re: Convert an antenna project from Ansoft Designer 1.1 to H
Hi TheSirac :
The distance is not my personal idea.
For past HFSS7 or 8, they feature the PML function.
And I remember Ansoft suggests lamda / 4 for the PML distance setting.
The process is much more simple, compared with HFSS9.
Try...
Re: Convert an antenna project from Ansoft Designer 1.1 to H
The distance between PML and DUT is not large enough, I guess.
Please try at least lamda/4 spacing.
Have you tried with Radiation boundary condition?
It seems there is no difference between them.
I am wondering about the thickness selection for Patch ANT design.
Is thinner substrate better for EM tool to approach closer to measurement,
or thicker substrate?
Could other experts give me some opinion?
Thanks in advance.
Please take a closer look at Balanis book.
There is indeed a formula for you to calculate the depth of inset.
Now I am using Ansoft Designer on the same 2.45G inset-feed square patch antenna.
The formula is quite good in Designer for the 50-ohm matching.
But the problem is its narrow-band...
Worst case design?
It means that all the tolerence of all components have to be calculated.
What papers would describe this ?
You have to examine and check all the circuit components and find
the datasheets. Then keyin all extreme-value of all components.
And re-examine the dsign results...
