pm3260

Hello everybody,

I search the schematic for these two oscilloscope. The PM3260 doesn't show any trace on the display (it seems that it's a 'classical' problem with this model??) and the PM3265 has burned after some minutes (before that, the symptom was the same that the PM3260).

Somebody have any ideas? Can you help me please?

(PS: sorry, I now my English is not very good :-o )

Thank you very much in advance!

i found an article on philips scopes in an old i think 'television' magazine
was if i remember going on about the electrolytic caps in its psu being crap etc

it didnt give the whole circuit just the psu and parts of its drivers
with stuff to change

i followed this at the time and fixed my own 50mhz philips PM3215

ill look thru the mags cupboard tomorrow and post if i have it still or not

if i do ill try to scan it on a flatbed and post it as a zip or something

most of them share common components pcb like the psu and drivers boards
the front end and componenet counts on other pcbs seems all that changes per model

but i suspect your wanting to calibrate them

if so philips will supply the full service manual
for mine it was £40
so.. i phoned there technical services in the uk and they sent it the next day
even asked me no money upfront !!!

good luck

Hi Scall1549,

This is the schematic of the power supply/high voltage unit of the PM3264.
Since this unit is used in several models of Philips you've got two chances
that it is any good to you.

Hello,

Sorry for my late answer (you are to fast for me :D ). Thank you very much for you schematic but it's not the same that for the PM3260 or PM3265 (there are not IC's on these old PSU). Futhermore, after some tests with the 3265, it seems that all voltages are ok (I just replaced 1 capacity burned).

On the high voltage PCB, I found one diode (BY187/05) which seems doesn't work correctly. I tried to test it with my multimeter but I'm not sure that this high voltage diode can be 'tested' like the other diodes... Do you know a way to do that please? Somebody know why I can test if the high voltage on the CRT is ok? (I refuse to put my finger on that... ;-) ).

Thank you!

hallo scall,
the diodetest on your multimeter is prefered to test forward voltage on
diode or transistor and to not damage it,
germanium diode have about 0.2 to 0.3V forward voltage and silikon diode
about 0.6 to 0.7 volts,
the diode BY187 you try to test have forward voltage about 25 volts and
your multimeters testvoltage is about 1.1 max 2 volts only so it dasnt work

Hello,

Thanks Privan! I didn't know this particularity... Probably this diode is good because the high voltage seems working (the CRT was loaded so I 'sense' it :-o ). I'll try to find a solution on the 3260 when I have more time... and I'll keep you informed if I found someone (maybe that can be userful to somebody...)

hi.

I'm lookin too for a PM3265 service manuel or (schematic)

I already have a problem with. i explain everything cause i don't know what could be interresing to know

*
The first time i plug it "working" for few mintutes.
After few minute it was an explosion then a lot of smog.
then it won't start
I open it and see it was X2 capacitor.
i replace it and it work again.

*
but it was an other problem the focus start to be become fuzzy
i open the oscilloscope plug/unplug a lot of thing, then find (in the same card than befor) a burned resitor.
after fix that, the focus was good.
but after few minutes the focus start to be fuzzy (it take few minute to be totaly fuzzy).

*
an other thing : after few minutes i start to heard a noise louder and louder

ps: sorry for my english, i hope you could understand what i try to explain
