[SOLVED] USB Type-C for 230v power supply and 5V DC voltage

I'm willing to use USB TYPE-C to connect power supply from one point to another point...
upper two leds for AC 230V and Lower two leds for 5V DC voltage...

If i used like this means any problem will occur like producing between each other or someother problems..?
 

First of all, this is not safe. Anyone unaware of this, could inadvertently plug some device into this connector thinking it would have 5v, and would get surprised in the worst way to find out that it has 220v. Moreover, certainly the insulation as well as the clearance of the terminals are not suited for this voltage level, neither to the electric environment itself, with lot of EMI.
 

on one side i need USB TYPE A female connector and another side some other type of connector to connect 230V AC and 5V DC...

Is using usb connector itself unsafe..?

my main aim of project is i have to control an 230V AC lamp using an controller...
The control unit is separate from power source...


I need 230V AC for lamp and 5V for controller unit..?
how can i do it..?
 

The question is unclear:

to connect 230V AC and 5V DC...

Are you referring to build a kind of AC/DC power supply, like those used for charging mobile phones through the USB connector ?
 

yes,charger will act as power supply and mobile will act as lamp

Still unclear for me. If a similar application is already being used on market for a different load, what exactly are you concerned on doing the same with a simplest load ? What differ form the usual, the lengh of the cable ? The environment on which would be used ? I can't see any issue.

in this picture i showed everything
i having separate power supply,control unit and lamp...the lamp will take 800mA current,230V AC voltage.
I have to transfer the 230V to lamp through control unit.In control unit i will use relay and one 5V chip to control the lamp.So i need both 5v and 230v from power supply to control unit...

for that can i use usb type-c to transfer power supply or can use any other type of usb connector....
From from supply unit i need type-a usb connector and another side we can choose another type as our requirement..?

using usb cable is safe or is their any alternative connector to connect this units..?
 

What is the lamp wattage ? and what is the adapter output voltage ?
 

Adapter having two range of voltage
230V AC directly from main supply for lamp...

5V DC 1A for control unit..
Bulb will take 180watts

you are not really asking to run 230V AC with a USB Type-C connector?

The answer only can be: NO! Never ever!
Even thinking about it hurts.

Yes. Also you should keep 230V AC lines and 5V 1A DC lines separate. Don't put them in the same connector. Read about using standard connectors.
 

with separate connector,4 core wire with separate insulation can us for 230V AC and 5V DC in same core..?
 

No. Use Separate 2 way terminal blocks of proper current ratings. Also PCB tracks should be designed for proper current ratings.
