Thermometer has three switches: 1 and 2 for brighting and dimming the display, 3 is a hot-key, which pressed, sets the brightness to 0 – it is very useful during sleeping and when you go outside the house – there is no need for the display to light when you are not at home.

When the backlight is off, the system consumes only 20mA, while when the backlight is on, it rises up to 100%, approximately 80mA. In addition to the system, a simple power supply was built. Transformer is TS 2/56. When rectified, it gave about 15V, based on a simple stabilizer 12V.

Elements needed:
  • display
  • Atmega8
  • stabilizer
  • tape (7 meters)
  • housing
  • connectors
  • switch

Down arrow indicates the drop in temperature, up arrow indicates increase in temperature.

Front panel can be modified a little.

The board was made by thermal transfer method.
