hello;

Can you use a standard circiut without a chip to charge Lithium-ion battery?

Yes. Build a 4.100 VDC voltage regulator and feed a single cell with it. You can do it to a few cells in parallel also. Not when in series as in a battery.
If the battery has several cells in series, either build several voltage regulators or take turns charging each cell.

The Li-ion battery in series behaves very funny when tried for charging .Sometime the lo end charges up and hi end heats up .Sometimes it is viceversa ..
Can someone guide action to be taken?

Lithium Ion battery pack, Lithium ion cell, Li Ion cell, Li ion battery, protection circuit pcm
Not everything so easy. Constant-current and then constant voltage method.

This schematics is working wonderfully.I tried the same and was very successful.
thanks .
