I'm using c18 with a PIC18F4550 and using the C18 XLCD library. Checked my timings, they're to tolerance.

My LCD seems to have a problem, which I think I've had before, where some of the characters do not display right.

See video:

I'm pretty confident it's a hardware problem, but please advise.

Thanks,
Matt

Yes, most probably is hardware issue.

Thanks for replying and confirming. I'm still pretty green at electronics but there's so much to learn!

With Optrex Lcd Display,if you have a garbage,is because you write too fast on your lcd,you need some delay, but your lcd is defect, try to remove metal case, with rubber pad under and clean wtih alcohol, some time work for me

No, is not hardware issue, if some of the characters do not display right you have a video card driver problem or you have a virus. Here **broken link removed** download AVG free, maybe will help you.
