1- Is your mixer active or passive? If it's an active mixer, supply can be the problem.
2- Ac coupling capacitor at the output of the mixer can cause problems if you are using a Zero-IF conversion scheme. You may need to change the capacitor.

Check for the change in temperature in your components during the pulse. It really depends if your pulse is in order of milliseconds or microseconds in some cases with high power. a pulse with %10 duty cycle and 1.5ms duration may seem like a pulse but can act like CW in terms of heat generation.

I believe LTCC is a surface mount unit while cavity filters are more like a wave-guide like structure. Integrating cavity filters into a PCB requires different mounting techniques while LTCC can be made as SMT and soldered like a classic component.
