27 Aug 2008 15:26 deembed ground signal ground pads ? |

In designing an on chip antenna, which way is right?
1. The pads are simulated as a part of the antenna, but we need to de-embed the effect of pads afterward.
2.design the antenna only, the pad is added in experiment.(one paper say this way),then do we need to deembed the pads' effect?
thanks.

I suggest to go with pad. No de-embedding.
This is because some time gnd with pad will match the antenna to 50 ohm

| Thanks. But when using pad together, the pad seems also a part in radiation. I hope it will not bring in strong parastic effect.
